I bought that one from amazon last year and had the same problems as you so returned it.

Ironically the one you bought is the last one I had. Failed after 2 hours usage, mine had more of a bump on it but I think they're nearly all the same circuit board in there.

I'm putting this down to potential bad investment. However I'll say this. I did buy mine direct from the manufacturer so will have better support. I've fired off an email outlining steps I've taken.

I've gotten it close but not good enough. GPS signal is choppy but I think I can set it as a pass through, will check tomorrow. Resolution just not good enough though. 1280 X 560 too big, 1280 X 600 tiny bit too small, 1280 X 610 way too big. Can't win. I've tried various things, and I'm a techy so not afraid of it. I'll try anything BUT if I can't get this to work I will settle on wired AA.

Speaking of trying different things. I've OEM NLine pedals on the way from a Hyundai parts guy in Korea. I'll report back elsewhere if they're the correct fitment. €89 delivered for both(incl taxes). Two bolts and an electrical connector for the pedal, elbow grease for brake pedal is hopefully all that's required.

Can you send it back as faulty?
Alan

Prefer to troubleshoot it first with them, so possibly a return(not man drawer storage). They've sold 1000s upon thousands of them as I bought from their official store should be able get support.

I'll give them till end of Friday for a reply and open a dispute with them. Get them paying attention.

If you only need to use Android Auto then why not just get the Motorola dongle as It's the only one that is 'certified' for Android Auto? (I think)

Possibly is but then again CarlinKit are a major manufacturer and they made Version 4.0 to cover both Android Auto and Car Play and it was cheaper, economies of scale maybe. If I don't get this resolved I will just go back to wired AA, I won't try another route.

From recent reports some people say that the Tucsons only have one terminal on the back of the system for GPS and the Nav is using that terminal which means they cannot allow Android Auto to use it hence why the cars without NAV can use Wireless AA but those with NAV cannot. I cannot see Hyundai being able to software change this in the future so we're stuck with either a Dongle or the wired connection.

Here's my Motorola dongle for anyone that's interested. You can't see if from outside the car so feel like it won't be of interest to anyone considering breaking in!

Solves my OCD but £90 for something you'd expect included (or at least added later) does annoy me.

I bought a CarLinKit at the end of last year and returned it within a week.
Unreliable to the point i would have error messages about the device on screen or there would be no connection which resulted in me having to disconnect/reconnect to try and get it to work.
I also found an unnoted side effect when using the device and my phone wouldn't have any sort of active mobile data connection when connected to the box. Nothing i could do would fix this so that was pretty much the last straw.

Yes, this functionality should be standard on a modern car like this. But, at least there is a solution for anyone that needs it so not all doom and gloom.
