I'm sure I can drive off without the seatbelt being done up. It does 'bong' at me after a short while.

I own a 2022 Ultimate Hybrid with Tech Pack - in Red (best colour).
Also have two motorcycles. Honda CB1300 and Honda CBF1000 (also red, of course).

Just tried this in my car and it definitely won't go back or forward without the seat belt plugged in.
The brake system didn't like me trying it either as they grunted and groaned a bit afterwards.

My car is running the June 2022 software update, and other than model/model year specific features, I have no other suggestions as to why my car does not enforce the seatbelt, but quite pleased it doesn't.

I just pulled away in mine without my seat belt on. I did have to manually release the EPB first though whereas normally I don’t. Had mine three weeks and having thought about it I have done this a few times now. Once I couldn’t, but I can’t remember if I tried to manually release the EPB then or not.

My software isn’t up to date however, so may be when I get round to updating it I won’t be able to do this.

And there's the explanation ! I tried to pull away without releasing the EPB as I normally would and the car wouldn't move.
Just tried it again and released the EPB manually and the car moves without the seat belt plugged in.
I have the latest software update, so it's nothing to do with that - mystery solved. :D

Glad you have the resolution & as per the user manual .... 'do not accelerate with the EPB applied blah blah blah'. Thats why it's always worked for me. Mystery solved.

That's a very useful tip. Its a pity we can't give it more prominence on the forum somehow.

On the forum I use for my hobby it's possible for the mods to make certain threads into a sticky that are considered to have long term relevance.
I don't know if that can be done on this forum, maybe AlanH will know.

Thanks for that as I just tried it and it works. Even the bongs stop after a bit. Should have read the screen as it says to take the EPB off - doh!
I only really used the handbrake for a sharp left or right turn in cars that didn't have an EPB and those that have I must have been programmed to assume that the bloody car should know what I want to do
