In-car ring tone

I have my mobile connected to my 71 reg Tucson. My phone was on silent yesterday and when it received a call, the notification came up on the infotainment screen but there was no ringing in the car. Today the same thing happened even though the phone wasn't on silent.
In the sound menu there is a volume control for the ring tone which is up but it still doesn't ring. Any ideas?
