This post is with reference to my earlier thread about throttle hesitancy.
To recap: when accelerating under normal driving conditions between 2.5k -3.5k RPM, the car becomes hesitant. The hesitancy is also present when driving at a steady 40-50mph in 5th and 6th gear.
I was going to mention it when the car goes in for its first service. In the meantime, I have carried out a full diagnostic check and found no issues with fuelling or the coil packs.
I remember reading an article about the Tucson GPF issues, and the various fixes that Hyundai have tried. The last one being a software upgrade that delayed the GPF warning light coming on whilst simultaneously running the engine leaner (in other words a fudge). Although I’ve never had the GPF warning light, I decided to go through the procedure of correcting the issue during a recent long motorway run.
After 20 odd mins the hesitancy stopped, and the car now runs as normal. Now it could be pure coincidence, or my GPF light was eminently about to come on. If the injectors had some form of contamination to cause the issue I had, it should have shown up on the advance diagnostics.
It would be interesting to know what owners of the Tucson 1.6 SE Connect Model (21-24) who have the GPF light come on experience in the days leading up to the warning.
