We have a Rolec fitted for our plug-in, however like some on here, we were fortunate. To get a fitting deal, As they are few and far between now, it might be a option for you to use a 3 pin option,, just don’t use it through a extension lead .

I would advise. To try the 3 pin if it doesn’t charge fast enough for your life style then invest in the wall box. If 3 pin can balance your lifestyle then it might be the way to go as more priorities in the cost of living crisis

Good luck with your plug in we love ours!,,, 5 weeks and not a drop of fuel used, our only regret if I’m honest, is we filled it on collection as it was empty and not charged. So we’re carrying the extra weight 🤣🤣🤣

Sound advice thanks…… and had a chuckle over your ‘extra weight’. 😁

When I picked up my car the dealer gave us a half a tank of fuel and the battery had not be charged same as you. I filled my car up at the nearest garage and I still have the same fuel, looks like this will change when the winter comes as it will be using more petrol.

And yes my holder was black but is now grey as it’s in the sun and weather all day and looks like it not UV protected, but it’s been out in all weathers in February this year

Jools just a daft question and not to steal thread, is it a snug fit in your holder or can you wiggle it a little? Mine has very slight movement

Thanks

Evening folks. 1 other point to consider before you have the 7kw charger fitted is the size of the main fuse for your property. Ours was only 60 amp and we couldn't use the full 7kw until we had it changed to an 80 amp, which Western Power did FOC, but best to check if the power supplier would charge.

Well, in that case I would have a problem as the RCD is only up to 63A.
On another note….. How long exactly is the lead for the 3-Pin to Mains Domestic Socket.

Edited:…. Just found out the length of the 3 Pin cable is only 3mtrs, definitely not long enough for my requirements.
Can someone recommend a longer either 5 or 8mtr cable to purchase?
