Hi all I just picked up the car and I'm charging it now, I took some photos of the tow bar, I have to say its a nice piece of kit. no switch inside its a dedicated
wiring loam. and it clips into the bar much better than my westfillia that I had on the Tiguan, it just clicks in no struggle.
and you cannot see it from the rear.

Thanks for the pictures. Was it a dealer fit? I'm wanting to get one fitted but they seem crazy expensive from the dealer.

Yes it was done by the dealer before I picked up the car, They use a local company as well as other dealers of other manufacturers down in Swansea.
It was £550 fitted, but the way hitch clicks into the bar is much better than the westfillia one I had
On the Tiguan.

That's a good price. I thought I'd seen on here people being quoted £1k plus. Is it fitted using Hyundai parts? I'll have to get some quotes. I have seen Hyundai 13 pin electrics for around £110 plus delivery on a German website, however looking at the towbar instructions I've seen it seems to suggest having to remove the bumper which is probably beyond my skill set.

Yes the uk car have to remove the rear bumper the USA cars just bolt on the chassis. I thought I would have to get a 13 pin wiring loam from the dealers but the kit came with the wiring loam with no switch in side the car. As I did not want to spoil the dash or console.

This is interesting because in Febuary before ordering my Tucson Plug-in Ultimate + Tech pack (due Oct) I had concerns about its Braked Towing capacity which did change on the Officlal site from 1350kg to 1350/1650 then back to 1350 and as an owner of a 1500kg Caravan I sort confirmation it would be capable before I ordered then a few weeks back I saw 1350kgs NOT GOOD
But I now have an email from Hyundai UK that states it can Tow up to 1600kgs...confused yet?

Hi yes it’s true. I got the same response from them. only in hybrid mode combination of the petrol and electric engines and not full electric on its own as it’s only 90hp.
If that makes sence
