Hi since I have updated iPhone to iOS 18 the text messages do not show on the infotainment screen. I’ve deactivated both and reinstalled but the same.
Not a huge issue but any ideas how to get this to work again.? TIA

How is your iPhone connected to the infotainment unit? Is the connection via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi or both?

If you had the full suite of Apple CarPlay apps etc before the update and you are connected in the same manner, then
it’s something that needs to be resolved. I say that because I too am an iPhone user and I haven’t checked messages on the infotainment screen since the recent phone update.

I know the function was working perfectly before the update so I’ll check it next time I use my car.

Just used my car a little while ago and both Messages and WhatsApp are working correctly. By that I mean that I can both send and receive messages on either platform.

I’m running Mac OS18.1.1 and still using the autumn 2023 version of the nav system in the infotainment unit. There is a Sept 24 update but that seems to be applicable only to those models with the ‘ccNC’ system.

I’m afraid I’m not sufficiently au fait with electronics to suggest what the problem might be in your car but there are other forum members here who are far more ‘clued-up’ than me. Perhaps one of those will spot your post and provide some direction.

All other things being equal, my only suggestion is to use a different USB drive and repeat the balls-aching download. Don’t bother formatting the drive as the download will do that for you regardless if there are tons of outdated information on it, no longer relevant to you. Select the USB drive, when given the opportunity to choose a destination and follow the instructions when you are sure that the download process has been completed.

When you finally arrive at the point where you want to install the files into the infotainment system, when you receive the invitation to complete the file transfer, choose to do it after switching off.

Apologies if I’m teaching my granny to suck eggs and good luck if you choose to perform another download as I have suggested.
