Have had our Tucson PHEV for nearly 2 years and always had EV range around 34-37 miles and with the usual pros and lowers with temperature outside

The last month or so we are barely getting 26 miles even when outside temps are early 20s so def not a cold weather issue

Anyone seen similar or do we have a potential battery issue? Car has 20000 miles on the clock

We have had ours since March 2023 this year and to date regardless of weather (expecting a drop soon as it turns colder) once it is charged it always shows 37 miles. In real world usage we get between 33-38 miles depending on journey type and speed. Will keep an eye out though and report back if any different.

Thanks - so that mirrors our real world fairly closely up to this month which has dropped significantly

The full charge does show 35 on the display etc but we realised a couple of weeks ago that it rapidly drops from around 10 miles left down to zero from around 22 miles onwards which usually results in a total of around 24-26 maximum before the EV is empty

I saw this on YouTube about another car. Basically it was due to learned behaviour ie the miles that you will get is based on your real world usage, the same as the miles left in the tank is based on your personal average mpg. On that video they said that if you reset the trip computer then it suddenly jumped up to the original range figures. It’s a bit of a cheat though as the figures based on usage are actually more accurate.

So, it could be that in this case although it does seem odd that it’s suddenly changed after a couple of years being constant. Might be worth a try resetting the trip computer though.

Interesting idea but I can clearly see that EV disappears from the display when hitting around 25 miles from start of driving (with 100% charge) - of course this also corresponds to the mpg dropping from 999 to double figures within a few miles

So not sure resetting trip would make any difference
