Correct.... but what Alan sh is telling you is the indicator you are talking about shows the charge for the HEV battery also know as the Traction battery.
There is no indicator on the dash screen for the small 12 volt battery. Try driving your car in Sport mode for a while and you will see this indicator go to 75-90% charge during this mode.
