Hi all, I recently took delivery of my Tucson Petrol Hybrid Ultimate and have been working my way through the encyclopaedic operations manual and trying out the Star Fleet level features.
It's a very impressive car. And stunning in Jupiter Orange with the light grey interior.
It isn't just dripping with function & features, but everything seems very well thought through and works very well.
I'm thinking of fitting a dash cam atm, now that the Sony Starvis 2 is coming into products and giving genuine 4k quality front and rear. Id be interested in hearing your own experience re fitting, as with all the electronics, radar and cameras in cars these days some manufacturers insist on specific locations to fit a dashcam. Currently I like the ViofoA229, but still researching.
Wishing you all happy & safe motoring

Unless 4WD is essential, the regular Hybrid model is the pick of the range for those without the means to charge at home. As with all cars, there are both pros & cons and not everyone requires the full gamut of gadgets and gizmos available in the latest top-of-the-range cars from the major carmakers. In ‘Ultimate’ trim, the Tucson provides enough for most people not to feel short-changed at the current price point.
I’m reasonably happy with my 2023 model although I’m not really a fan of these SUVs with their brick-like aerodynamics. If the Tucson suits your needs in available space, comfort and fuel economy, I’m sure you will enjoy the experience.
While this forum may not be the most sophisticated or dynamic car forum on the internet, it is nonetheless a good reference facility, covering just the one model through its various incarnations. I hope you come to find the forum interesting and that you enjoy your Tucson Hybrid as you gain experience of its abilities, in the knowledge that if something goes wrong, the warranty will ensure you are back on the road speedily at zero cost.

Location of a dashcam, I don't believe manufacturers specify where to put one although it would depend on the dashcam really(size, screen brightness etc). When I google the one you refer to my personal opinion would be to the left of the rear view mirror because it has a screen. I don't have a dashcam with a screen, I have a Roadangel in 2K with no screen so mine is directly underneath the plastic of the assembly of the rear view mirror area and from the outside you can barely even see the dashcam other than a little eyeball looking out at you. As I would never be looking at the screen(had I had one) I didn't want an intrusive screen showing in the car. However, If I had to have a dashcam like yours I would simply put it where the driver cannot see the screen to avoid potentially glare or a distraction.
I also only have a front facing camera and because Hyundai(and other manufacturers) will have a wired rear view mirror(for dimming etc) there is a wiring loom inside the back of the plastic assembly(lots of Youtube vidoes for it). You can get various connectors for this so you don't have to wire to the fusebox which has its own pros and cons. I use a Dongar connector and took minutes to install. I have previously had a car where I wired my own dashcam(easy enough) to the fusebox but the Tucson you can buy a Dongar online. I got mine direct from the USA and avoided(somehow) Import taxes and duties. They're often on Amazon however for more money.
Pros - Install within minutes
Cons - Unsure about being able to use a rear view camera personally but other con being the rear view mirror only gets power when the car has power so when you turn off the car so does the dashcam so you cannot use a "parking mode" unless the dashcam retains some sort of internal power for X number of hours.

Thanks Bertie, There are new 4k + 4k dashcams coming out all the time atm. Not all of them have reached the UK yet, so I'm hoping there will be plenty of choice here soon.
I read about the mirror wiring kit on the forum here, and it looks good if it can work with a 2025 model. £30ish direct from the manufacturer looks fair. £54 from Amazon less so for 3 plugs and a power adapter!
There's another one on Amazon too, cheaper, but reliability is a concern in the reviews.
