Shattered glass roof panel

Hi new to forum
My 6 month old tucson n line s glass panel between wind screen and panoramic glass roof has shattered nor with impact of anything but flexing and bonging of glass has come away from car body dealer senior mechanic has told me to used car as normal until repair which will take 6 weeks to get glass from factory my question is will this not leak when it rains or I wash it shouldn't they have given me a hire car until repair to stop more damage happening
