Quick update. Car still in the workshop. Parts due in UK at the end of December. It will have been in the workshop longer than i have actually owned it, so have rejected it. So far the process has been challenging.

Correct decision. I went through this exact process a few years back and as you say it's challenging. The manufacture concerned left it until the day before going to Court before they folded. Hopefully Hyundai will not go that far in your case.
