Re: True MPG Phev
Thanks DrE. Sounds like the Podpoint box doesn't do much for £800+. Perhaps there's an opportunity for someone to offer an "economy" version. Just a reminder for anyone thinking about getting 7kw charger fitted-make sure your main fuse is big enough to cope with the extra load. I had to ge...

Re: True MPG Phev
Mine came with 2-1 to use with a 13 amp socket and the other for the 7kw charger. The 13 amp socket cable is a fair bit longer than the other. The thought has occurred to me since that if the gubbins on the car does all the fancy work converting AC to DC, why can't you just have a suitable 7KW socke...

Re: True MPG Phev
Hello Itchycat1. My first observation is that you appear to have assumed the extra purchase price of the PHEV will not be partially recovered when the car is sold/traded in after 4 yrs. I can't say for sure the PHEV will get a better price than the Hybrid but all things being equal it ought to. Seco...

Re: True MPG Phev
Hello focusy. When I recharege the battery the max range I get is 35, although for some reason it momentarily shows 37 before going to 35. I rarely do long journeys in the car-I've got a 3ltr diesel XF for that- but on the 1 occasion we did do a long journey I think we did get the 35 miles before th...

Re: True MPG Phev
I think it's beyond doubt that rising electricity costs are going to have a serious impact on the cost of running a PHEV Tuscon, but I'm perfectly happy with the choice I made, based on the information that was available to me at the time-August last year. My wife and I both like the car very much f...

Re: New Tucson GPF light on
It sounds like it's not a question of a faulty component-more like the system just doesn't work as it's intended to i.e. the system isn't fit for purpose. I think this could turn out to be quite a problem for PHEVs because in normal use they'll rarely get sustained driving over 1500rpm. Even if you ...

Re: New Tucson GPF light on
Just rung the dealer where I bought my car-the service dept says the PHEVs do have a GPF, which I wasn't aware of, so I'm going to make sure the car gets a decent run in hybrid mode at least once a month to clear it. It could actually be more of a problem for the PHEVs because unless you select hybr...

Re: New Tucson GPF light on
Hi. Is this something that might affect a PHEV or does it just affect the petrol only cars?
