Re: Boot space
I have the PHEV and if I lift the foam insert there are the batteries but there is still a lot of unused space down there. I wondered if it was suitable for bits and pieces that didn’t get used often - as it would be a pain lifting the insert too often? Nothing hard that might hit against the batte...

Re: Charging management PHEV
I have a third party standard 3 pin type charger. This has various charge rate options and I usually use the 10 amp one which actually only draws 9 amps. I don't know if the car is controlling this. It may be because my mains supply voltage is at the low end of the permitted range. I do have a 13 am...

Re: Brand new tuscon 15 days old wont open!
On the face of it this dealer is a disgrace to the profession. They should know that a dashcam fitted to this car should never be powered when the system is not on, if that is indeed the problem. When a customer has limited technical expertise, and why should they need it, then any responsible sales...

Re: Cold weather mpg in Hybrid 230
Same here with the plug-in. During a relatively short sub-zero journey I saw the consumption dip below 30 mpg. But I did deliberately use hybrid mode so that the engine warmed up properly and the air-conditioning defrosted and demisted everything including me! After the cold snap I went back to 999 ...

Re: The proper way to drive the automatic?
Hyundai are not keen on releasing any information about their hybrid transmission but my understanding is that the PHEV does use a "real" six speed gearbox and automatic changes are made using dual clutches. These changes are mostly so smooth that they are unnoticeable but sometimes the dr...

Re: Bluelink battery percentage question
My car charges from a third party mains adaptor at just under 2 kW ( 9amps X 220 volts) as shown on the adaptor. It takes about 6 to 7 hours and the adaptor shows overall consumption at 12 to 13 kWH. Its worth remembering that as well as the low battery reserve always kept for hybrid operation there...

Re: Forward Safety system disabled. Radar blocked.
I had this problem when my new car was delivered to me. It turned out that they had fitted the front number plate too low and it interfered with the radar area which is the flat black area below the bumper. It is apparently a very marginal available space. I have only had one instance of these messa...

Re: Not everyone is a fan of electrification!
From a longer term perspective the big risk for electric vehicles is that the technology will be superseded in ten to twenty years time as hydrogen or something similar is adopted. If there is a huge investment made in electric charging services and distribution at the scale needed for fast charging...

Re: E5 or E10 Fuel
We don't get E15 in the UK as far as I know, but they do in the US so it most likely relates to US models. Are you looking at different manual? [/quote] For convenience I took the snapshot from the Canadian manual which is available on-line but page 1-8 of the UK manual has the same warnings that I...

Re: E5 or E10 Fuel
There are no absolutes in this matter so when the manual says that 15% ethanol is definitely harmful it is surely reasonable to assume that 5% ethanol carries less risk than 10%. Regulations insist that new cars must be E10 compatible so you do need to read between the lines to some extent. Perhaps...
