Re: Air Con

I have had no issues with air con at all. It has been really cold in recent hot weather (set at 20c) and I haven’t noticed any reduction in effectiveness when stationary/ in EV mode. I have 230 HEV ultimate. 2500 miles now and average mpg up to 50.5 despite air con being on all the time.

Re: Insurance premiums

For comparison I paid £287.20 with Direct Line. Very similar cover - £100 compulsory excess (£0 voluntary), protected NCB. It was £65 more than the previous year for a new Skoda Karoq Sportline. Tucson value obviously higher.

Re: Future plans for hybrid 4WD 230ps auto

I bought mine at Marshall Hyundai Worcester which is not too far from you. They were very competitive earlier in the year but their prices quoted on Autotrader seem to have gone up a little. Paid £32950 for the 230 Ultimate HEV in silver metallic. Deposit paid in mid Jan and picked up car end of Mar...

Re: Future plans for hybrid 4WD 230ps auto

I agree with “old man”. I live in the Cotswolds and for a while I always went for 4WD. Best car I probably ever owned was a BMW 330d X Drive Touring. However, the number of times I actually benefitted from 4WD was very limited. I also am very pleased with my Tucson 230 Ultimate 2WD HEV. It is very c...

Re: May 2022 Update

I had another reset today. Reversed the car out of the garage and put it in “P” and applied the electronic brake while on the drive. Got out of the car to shut the garage door but did not press the engine stop button. May have left the driver’s door open for a short while. Got back in the car, press...

Re: Change colour or sell

Obviously choice of colour is very subjective and can depend very much on the design of the car. Before ordering my Tucson I really struggled with the decision. Having had black and white cars in the past I would not go with them again, although when clean they can look great. I am a great fan of bl...

Re: HEV economy

Can only say my average mpg for a trip when I have regularly exceeded high sixties has gone down by 10/20% depending on obvious parameters. I would say my Tucson is more fuel efficient at low to medium speeds than previous diesels I have owned whereas the diesels were better at higher speed. My Tucs...

Re: May 2022 Update

I have raised the resetting issue with the dealership from where I bought the car; they said they would refer it to Hyundai Technical. Over the first 3 months of ownership I would say this is my only real gripe with the car. It has happened to me about 10 times and I don’t know why it does it. The c...
