Why no gas struts on the bonnet- cheap old fashioned bonnet stay. - I have found some via Ali express which do the job well. Shame not standard.

Agree high seat height is so much better to get in and out, being 6'3" and long term back issues I'm glad to have gone back to the taller motor.

Just going off the photo's i would say that the larger hex to the right lower down is the filler/level on the Gearbox.
