Re: Petrol particulate filter

Was that the dealer asking you to sign, or Hyundia themselves? I'm not 100% sure. I didn't see the signature form again once I refused to sign it, but it definitely had the Hyundai logo at the top. And, unlike all the other papers, there was only one copy, no duplicate for me to keep. There was no ...

Re: Petrol particulate filter

I picked up my Tucson yesterday, and while being handed a load of papers to sign, one of them was about the GPF which was said under 'normal driving' the GPF would function without issues. I asked them to define 'Normal driving' and they couldn't. So, I refused to sign this form as it was basically ...

Re: Pick up new car

My dealer told me that the p/ex price was only valid for 2 months. I was lucky and got a cancelled order (possibly one who walked away from a re-evaluation?) so my p/ex price was still valid when the car arrived. Sounds like you did get lucky. Someone's loss is another person gain. I was hoping the...

Re: Pick up new car

Tenbytriker - well done for holding on to the same PX price since January. My Tucson's ready for collection too, but my dealer is knocking £2k off the PX price we agreed in January, even though we had a deal that I paid a deposit on! They wouldn't budge on it though, and basically said 'take it or l...

Re: Dealers moving goalposts

I part exchanged my 2 year old Renault and the Broker said that if I were to PX in January he would offer 20k but as the car was due in March he couldn't hold the price and it would then be £19k. When a car became available at the end if January I negotiated 19.8k which he agreed. I don't think sec...

Re: Dealers moving goalposts

Get a few valuations of your car from some other sources. My current car has actually gone up in value since I did the deal in March. Do you have outstanding finance on your current car? If you do then they probably just want to re-finance to take into account the repayments and valuations together...

Re: Dealers moving goalposts

Can they do this? I imagine that if you have nothing in writing, they probably can. I do have something in writing, as I said I might sell privately. They replied that their offer will stand if the private deal falls through. Another message says the price they quoted for the PX is a 'worst case' p...

Dealers moving goalposts

My dealer is trying to backtrack on the deal we made when I ordered my Tucson in January. It was originally due to be delivered in March, and the deal included honouring the agreed PX price for my current car even though I would be waiting a few months. Fast forward to June, and I got a call to say ...
