Auto headlights and wipers

I was driving in heavy rain last weekend and suddenly realised that I was the only one around without headlights on. It was daylight and reasonably bright but the rain and spray was reducing visibility. I put the headlights on manually to be seen rather than to see. It made me think though that I do...

Re: General impression

I mean you literally get in and press one button to start and another to go, if that’s too complicated… Ok, I’m being a bit facetious but I really don’t think the Tucson is any more complicated than any modern car with good spec. Everything seems to be well laid out and intuitive. I’d suggest a more...

Re: Fuel Filler Flap not sitting flush

I’ve just ordered a replacement fuel cap. I had mine ‘fixed’ at the first service but now six months later it’s worse than ever. It’s actually hard to open or close the outer flap now as there’s so much pressure from the inside.

Hopefully this will put me on until the second service.

Re: Fuel Filler Flap not sitting flush

Well it’s 5 months since I had the filler flap on mine ‘fixed’. It’s back as it was before now, if anything it’s a bit worse.

Re: Automatic or manual

I’m a diehard manual driver, I’ve always loved feeling more in control and having a more engaging driving experience. But I wanted a hybrid this time and that meant going auto.
I have to say that I agree with the others, once you try it I’m not sure that you’d ever go back.

Re: Engine flush - recommend or not?

I tend to agree that if it were necessary then it'd be on the service schedule.

I think this might be another example of scare tactics trying to sell things/services. Any car on the road today is more that capable of doing 150K+ miles with nothing more than a regular service and upkeep.

Re: Big drop in EV range (not cold related)

I saw this on YouTube about another car. Basically it was due to learned behaviour ie the miles that you will get is based on your real world usage, the same as the miles left in the tank is based on your personal average mpg. On that video they said that if you reset the trip computer then it sudde...

Something I will be able to take because I just found a great deal on a Premium trim mild hybrid. The cruise control will be just one of the many new features I will have to learn. I’ll be collecting next weekend.
Is it a model with the DCT gearbox?

Re: Front Parking Sensor - Enable at low speed

Yeah mine have always been active at low speed without reversing first too. Maybe it just depends on what was set at the factory or dealer first.

Re: Brakes groaning

I don’t think it sounds normal, I don’t get any noise from the brakes on mine.
Are you using auto-hold or keeping your foot on the brake? Just wondering if it’s related to auto hold being a bit keen and hanging on the brake pressure as you start to move off.
