Re: What will you replace your Tucson with ?
I have two incentives which may be a bit quirky. Firstly I like trying different engineering solutions. Secondly the driving experience is very important but absolute performance is not what I mean. The Tucson has had no real problems but I just haven't been won over by the dual clutch automatic or ...

Re: Spontaneous wave of faults; Unsafe to drive
I believe this is a hybrid with a lithium 12 volt system? If so that would be the first item to come under suspicion but the cars ODI diagnostics should give some indication. If not constant voltage monitoring using a recording multimeter could show something happening. These meters typically have a...

Re: Granny charger query
I have a third party charger which I set at a nominal 10 amps. In practice it runs at around 9 amps. To solve the extension issue I bought some heavy duty ( 30 amp ) flexible cable, routed it semi-permanently through a windows frame, and wired it to an outdoor rated covered socket in a sheltered loc...

Re: Query about petrol consumption
I own a 2017 diesel tucson and travel many miles on the motorway to work and back but reading through this thread many of you achieve the same mpg but with a petrol hev!? The figures you get from your diesel are about the same as I have seen over long periods with both the RAV4 and my present Tucso...

Re: Insurance Quotes
I got a renewal offer last week from Aviva which was cheaper than anything else I could find but because I had some trouble with their strict on line only don't call us policy I decided to change even though it cost me £15 more. The fact that I might soon have to change it for a different car was al...

Re: Undertray trashed
A break in the weather allowed me to crawl under the car and get the nearside undertray off a few days ago. Being a sort of flexible fibre material it doesn't lend itself to reinforcement with any plastic repairs but it should be possible to use glass fibre with epoxy resin. In my case one corner wa...

Re: 2021 Tuscon Petrol Flap Not opening
The flap sticks on mine even though it was supposed to be fixed on the last service. If you can here a click when the button is pressed the issue is mechanical and my work round is to carry an old store card which I jam in the gap at the back of the flap with just enough force to exert some leverage...

Re: Tailgate heavy
If you happen to be short or a slight woman, the tailgate is heavy. If one is carrying a bag or something and it is wet on the ground, it’s not possible to open with one hand unless you are particularly strong. I think the spring mechanism should or could be adjusted to take the load when opening. ...

Re: Undertray trashed
Thanks or this. I have just checked mine and sure enough the nearside undertray has some damage, though not enough to break loose. A supposedly rugged 4X4 that get damage by a few deep puddles, thats disappointing!
